Hey, ich muss in Englisch eine Präsentation über eine Short Story machen. Die Problemfrage muss ich mir selber überlegen, also in Richtung Analyse/Moral oder über einen bestimmten Charakter. Kennt jmd eine Short Story, die man gut analysieren kann und die es auch kostenlos im Internet gibt?

Was ist die Simple Past und Past Participle Form von ,,slide on something (etwas aufziehen, aufsetzen)“ ist es auch slid, obwohl slid von rutschen beziehungsweise gleiten kommt?

Bitte um einige Beispiele für 5. Klasse Mittelschule.

Ich habe eine Frage zu Partizipien als Adjektive im Englischen.

Das Present Participle wird mit verb+ing gebildet ("Many things were surprising for the immigrants when they arrived in America") und das past participle wird mit verb+ed/-en o. der irregulären 3. Form gebildet ("I think I am a little confused now").

Ich habe nun eine Übung gemacht und verstehe die Lösung nicht ganz. Die folgenden Sätze beinhalten laut Lösung entweder das Present Participle als Adjektiv oder das Past Participle als Adjektiv:

• We were so relieved, when we finally arrived in New York after an exhausting journey.
• I had just one small, broken suitcase.
• We went past a group of scared children who were crying and calling for their parents.

Ein weitere Satz der Übung lautet:

• After we had gotten off, we had to stand in line with our belongings.

Laut der Musterlösung enthält dieser Satz kein Past Participle als Adjektiv, aber ist es nicht eine ähnliche Grammatikkonstruktion wie "We were so relieved"? Also Hilfsverb + Past Participle? Mir ist nicht ganz klar, weshalb das "relieved" in "We were so relieved" ein Partizip als Adjektiv ist und "gotten" in "After we had gotten off..." kein Adjektiv. Vor allem, weil auch das Present Participle im dritten Satz "... who were crying.." auch mit einem Hilfsverb gebildet wird, oder nicht?

Ich habe mal eine Frage, und zwar sagt man ,,Like he said“ oder ,,as he said“. Und warum das eine und das andere nicht?

Auf die Frage "How are you" antwortet man ja üblicherweise mit "I'm fine, thanks" aber es geht ja auch mit I'm well/good aber was von beidem wäre denn grammatikalisch korrekt?

ich hab ein paar Probleme mit den englischen Zeitformen und wollte deswegen mal nachfragen:

Warum wird in dem folgenden Satz zweimal das simple past verwendet? Ich dachte, dass das past perfect verwendet wird, wenn eine Handlung vor einer anderen in der Vergangenheit stattgefunden hat, was ja eigentlich der Fall wäre, oder? Also warum wird nicht „had known“ verwendet?

Also ich komme nächstes Jahr in die 5.Htl und man Englisch ist echt schlecht. Sowohl schriftlich als auch mündlich. Dieses Jahr habe ich sogar eine 5 bekommen. Ich bekomme zwar die Klausel aber muss trotzdem unbedingt mein Englisch verbesseren für die 5.Klasse und die Matura.

Ich muss in 3 Tagen meinen 3Minuten Talk in Englisch halten und schreibe am selben Tag in Englisch noch eine Schulaufgabe.Ich war bis jetzt krank und habe noch nichts für das Referat vorbereitet.Es soll über Mallorca gehen,aber ich weiß nicht so genau was ich drei Minuten darüber erzählen soll.

Hallo, könnte sich jemand bitte meinen Text anschauen (vor allem Grammatik). Vorab will ich sagen, dass es um einen Tag in einem Bildungszentrum geht.

When we arrived there on the second day, we had to go to our maintenance groups immediately. On that day, there was another specialist, so we had to introduce ourselves to her. After introducing, we got two sheets of paper. On the first one, there was only an eye and on the second one, there was a whole face. She said we had to paint makeup on both the eye and the face. In my opinion, my pictures were very ugly and it was very difficult for me because I can‘t draw well and I have never worn makeup before. After that, we grabbed our hairdressing heads which still had curlers in their hair and we had to remove them. They needed to be left in their hair overnight so that a volume winding would form. Luckily, it worked! Then we had to create our own hairstyle on our hairdressing head. The specialist said my hairstyle was pretty good. Then we could style and wash each other‘s hair again and X wanted to try  volume winding again as it didn‘t work on the previous day. On that day, it definitely worked better but she had to dry her hair with a hair dryer for about one hour because her hair was still too wet to remove the curlers from her hair. I was so sorry for her. Finally, she did it after one hour and her hair looked gorgeous, so in my opinion it was worth it. In the last 50 minutes, we could wear makeup but of course I didn‘t want, so I observed my classmates again. On the one hand, I think I could work as a hairdresser in future because it‘s interesting what customers tell you while I‘m styling their hair and it‘s also interesting to try out different hairstyles but on the other hand, this job doesn‘t match to me  because I‘m scared of doing mistakes because for example I could cut off a customer‘s hair and I don‘t want to touch stranger‘s hair.

After that, we were allowed to wash each other‘s hair and also to do a hairstyle by using for example a hair curler and straightener. We washed X‘s hair and we did her a volume winding. Sadly, it didn’t work because we did it wrongly.“

Wäre jemand so nett und könnte jemand einen kurzen Blick auf das Englisch Reading werfen und mir sagen wo Fehler sind?

Was bedeutet: Are you Pouring on the Pounds" auf deutsch wie kann man das verstehen?

Have to steht doch für eine Verpflichtung, genereller Natur. Und must drückt eher die persönlichen Gefühle aus. Müsste dann nicht must stehen?

Heyy ich schreibe am Donnerstag einen Jahrgangsstufentest, in dem es um die Grammatik aus der 7. Klasse (bayrisches Gymnasium) geht. Und irgendwie Check ich nicht wie die Conditional Tenses funktionieren. Kann mir jemand vielleicht mal erklären wann man welchen Typ benutzt? LG

Gibt es bei der Verwendung von might/may/could bestimmte Regeln, auf die ich achten muss? Meine Lehrerin meint, dass ich das Wort nehmen muss, das sich am besten anhört.

Beispiel:

If you go to Greece or Bulgaria, you might be suprised.

Könnte ich beim Beispiel auch may einsetzen?

Wie muss man es in der indirekten Rede schreiben, wenn da z.B. steht: ,,I think I will go to Spain on Saturday.“ ,,She said that she thought she would go to Spain (on Saturday)“? Wie soll man das on Saturday umformen?
