But all these goals are lifting up the parallel between work and happiness. These goals are about making you happy. But this brings us to our main question: Do we really have to work hard and sweaty to end up content and happy? The easiest way to come up with an answer is looking at the correlation of a job's earning and the feeling of happiness. Evidently, not every wealthy person died happy or content. There are thousands of billionaires not being thrilled about their great richness. They did work hard for their money, but this isn't making them feel okay. Looking at the opposite, we see poor people left with nothing leading a quite fulfilling life. They had enough time to ponder essential aspects of life and to conclude that life isn't about the biggest cars, houses, or private jets. And I am convinced that this work of thinking and absolutely correct conclusion takes a lot more effort than some moneybags made. The material the world is holding up for you if you work hard doesn't make you happy in any kind. A clear sentiment focusing on important things such as maintaining a loyal relationship with friends and family or growing up mentally results in a great life. Material is temporary, but what remains are your positive thoughts and ideas you share with people you love and your attemptment to become the best version of yourself. Dreams should follow you and not the other way around.

Then they watch Miriam's reaction, her face turns red, and both of the girls have to laugh. The next days they play other tricks on her. Karen and Julie put a plastic bag of marbles in Miriam's locker, which were clattering down the hallway, they make a voodoo doll of Miriam with a hug pin it's head and they also write a petition, which declaires that Meriam is weird and hated by all of her classmates. Below this note they copy the signatures of their classmates from a real petition. For Julie and Karen all this tricks are just funny. Later while they are waiting for Miriam's raction to their last trick, in biology class, they ask themselves, why she would not come to school. At the end of the lesson they find out that Miriam tried to commit suicide, but for them this is just funny and they do not even feel guilty.

Los Angeles has seen the evil

A recent school shooting in Los Angeles has brought the issue of school safety in the bad light. So, people became aware of these happening. On 30th April 2023, two 17-year-old students have armed their high school with two guns which left 11 people dead and 5 injured. This incident has left people worried about the safety of students and staff at schools.

Gun violence, especially in schools, is still a national crisis in the United States and migrants are still allowed to carry a gun because of the “national firearms agreement”. Due to the licenses of weapons, such acts are occurring more and more frequently. In order to protect students and school staff, most schools have security guards. There are also usually controls at the entrances. As a way to prevent non-schoolers from entering the school, they have their own school cards, which clearly show the identifies of the students. In addition, the police have increased their presence at schools.

Students, who have witnessed such incident, are usually traumatised and can hardly cope without psychological help. Many students and parents report terrible feelings and perceptions. “I was so scared when I heard gunshots. I ran and hid under a desk until the police came. Now I’m afraid to come back to school,” says a victim who survived this cruelty. Parents were calling desperately for their children, they even got more scared when they didn’t respond. These are just a few. As a result, the police has to deal with such incidents more and more often. “It is nothing scary anymore, we are already used to it”, claims a policeman. “We are already best prepared for such acts”, adds another officer. They have certain educations and trainings for these hardships.

Due to the school shooting on April 30th, this issue is more present than ever. Many students and parents are extremely frightened that they can also be victims. This clearly shows that much more could be done preventively.

Meine Lehrerin hat das "has closed" mit einem "closed/was closed" durchgestrichen. Aber meiner Meinung nach, könnte ich ja auch auf die jetzigen Auswirkungen hinweisen, da die Schüler eben zu dem Zeitpunkt keinen Zugang zu Bücher hatten. Also warum wäre dann "has closed" falsch, vielleicht wäre es unüblich im Sprachgebrauch, aber doch nicht falsch?
