Is the Earth a tolerable place to live? Explain your point of view.

Since there is no known alternative and therefore we have to decide between 'living on the earth' and 'not living at all', I would, assuming that 'living' is the set goal, opt for the earth as a place to live.

The question doesn't pose itself anyway without a place to compare the earth to as a suitable living environment for human life in general or me in particular.
