Schlachter 2000 ist sehr ähnlich wie die King James Bible.
Die Schlachter 2000 basiert wie die King James Bible auf dem Textus Receptus im NT.
Sie ist in ihrer Übersetzungsphilosophie der King James Bible ähnlicher, weil sie eine „formal-äquivalente“ Methode verfolgt, also möglichst nah am Urtext bleibt.
Die Schlachter 2000 ist also ähnlich wortgetreuere wie die King James Bible.
Es soll wohl auch Hinweise darauf geben, dass die King James Bible eine gewisse stilistische Inspiration für die Schlachter 2000 war.
Darum benötig man eigentlich im deutschsprachigen Raum kein King James Bibel. Eine offizielle deutsche Übersetzung der King James Bible (KJV) gibt es auch nicht.

Der Einfluss der King James Bibel hat im Laufe der Jahrhunderte zugenommen, weil sie in Ländern, in denen Englisch die vorherrschende Sprache war, die am meisten gelesene und verbreitete Version war.
In dieser Zeit wurde die King James Bibel so sehr in der angloamerikanischen Welt verankert, dass viele Menschen in Afrika und Asien Englisch aus der King James Bibel lernten. Viele Menschen waren sich nicht einmal bewusst, dass es sich um eine von vielen verfügbaren Übersetzungen handelte. Sie glaubten, die King James Bibel sei DIE Bibel auf Englisch.
Die Vertreter der »King James Only«-Bewegung glauben, dass die King James allen anderen Übersetzungen überlegen ist:

Manche halten diese Übersetzung sogar von Gott inspiriert. Die brauchen deshalb keine Urschriften auf Althebräisch oder Koine.
In der Gegenwart hat die KJV an Bedeutung verloren.
Ich habe nun, nach mehreren Jahren Arbeit, die deutsche Übersetzung des Neuen Testaments (und einiger Bücher des Alten Testaments) fertiggestellt und arbeite an der abschließenden Korrektur.

Wieso mögen die Amerikaner die King James Bibel?
Die King-James-Übersetzung ist eine englischsprachige Übersetzung. Sicher gibt es auch in Deutschland einige, die diese Übersetzung haben. Spontan fallen mir da jene ein, die gern auch in Deutschland ihre Englischkenntnisse nutzen (wollen) und da gibt es sogar in meinem persönlichen Bekanntenkreis welche und ich denke, dass es auch in Amerika Personen gibt, die, wenn sie dorthin umgesiedelt sind (oder dorthin verreist sind, und ihnen die Bibel wichtig ist), dass sie auch in ihrer jeweiligen Muttersprache zumindest eine Bibelübersetzung haben.
(Soweit es mich betrifft, habe ich die Bibel in der Einheitsübersetzung von 1980 und in der Lutherübersetzung von 1984. Und sollte mir ein Inhalt mal nicht klar genug sein (was recht selten ist), nutze ich die 12 deutschsprachigen Übersetzungen auf bibleserver.com.)
Jede Sprache hat ein Recht eine eigene Übersetzung aus dem Grundtext zu haben!
Z.B. hat Darby nach seine englische Übersetzung (Darby Bible) auch eine französische Übersetzung (Bible Darby) unterstützt und eine deutsche mitinszeniert die als Elberfelder bekannt wurde.
Da gab's hier auf GF auch mal einen, der wollte davon dann unbedingt eine deutsche Übersetzung.. 😂
