Dieses Lied ist zwar von 1977, aber bei dem Live Auftritt von Little River Band kommt der Anfangs-Part bei dem Song "Days on the road" gut rüber.
Chic: z.B "Le Freak" oder "Good Times" und andere Songs von ihnen haben tollen E-Bass

hm 80er und Bass - in der Zeit etwa sind die Anfänge von "Police" angesiedelt, da könnte man mal stöbern (Sting hat tolle Sachen mit dem Bass gemacht - ich denke da an "an Englishman in New York" ).
"Level42" wäre ebenfalls ein denkbarer Suchansatz, "Lessons in Love" als Beispiel.
Jaco Pastorius hat neben ein paar Solowerken viel als Studiomusiker bei anderen mitgewirkt.
Bei Hellmut Hattler (Kraan, diverse andere) kann man ebenfalls fündig werden.

Ich denke hier spontan an "Fade To Grey" von Visage oder auch frühe Stücke von OMD ("Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark") wie z.B. "Electricity", "Maid Of Orleans" oder "Telegraph". Vllt. findest du da noch was :)
