Hallo, 

z.B. a lot of cars und lots of cars beides ist korrekt. Verwendet wird es: 

 - eher informal und im gesprochenen Englisch

 - eher in positiven Aussagesätzen 

während in Fragen und verneinten Sätzen eher much und many verwendet wird.

In der Schriftsprache und im formal Englisch verwendet man vorwiegend much und many.

"a lots of" gibt es nicht.

"lots of" ist slang und bedeutet: "ne menge"

ist wohl anwendbar auf unbestimmte anzahl und ist gleichbedeutend zu "many"

aber halt ohne "a" vorn dran: lots of people, do have many questions tonight.

wenn man ultra-umgangssprachlich werden will, kann man auch " a whole lotta ..." sagen.
