Reduktion mit Kohlenstoff und Kupferoxid
Hallo:D Bei der Reduktion von Kupferoxid mit Holzkohle kommt ja folgende Reaktionsgleichung raus: Kohlenstoff+Kupferoxid -> Kupfer+ Kohlenstoffdioxid
warum kohlenstoffDIoxid und nicht Kohlenstoffoxid? Und was ist genau eine Redoxreaktion? Da ich die letzten 2 Stunden fehlte, verstehe ich das nicht ganz...

KohlenstoffMONoxid kann natürlich auch entstehen. Aber wenn genug Sauerstoff da ist, oxidiert der Kohlenstoff auch vollständig, weil bei der Bildung von Kohlendioxid aus Kohlenmonoxid und Sauerstoff gut das zweieinhalbfache an Energie frei wird wie bei der Bildung von Kohlenmonoxid aus Kohlenstoff und Sauerstoff. Von daher ist es günstiger, ein Kohlenstoffatom vollständig zu oxidieren als zwei Kohlenstoffatome halb.
