Hallo, ich soll ein Referat über die Tower Bridge halten dass ungefähr 8-10 min dauern sol bis jetzt habe ich das hier. Tower Bridge

I`d like to tell you something about Tower Bridge in London, because Tower Bridge is one of the famoust sights in London. Here are some photos.

Originally, London Bridge was the only crossing over the Thames. As London grew, so more bridges were added, but these were all to the west of London Bridge, since the area east of London Bridge had become a busy port.

The big problem for the Corporation of London was how to build a bridge downstream from London Bridge without handicape the shipping to get as many ideas as possible, the “Special Bridge or Subway Commitee” was formed in 1876.

In October 1884 Sir Horace Jones designed the bridge, Sir John Wolfe Barry, 5 constractors and 432 construction workers build the Tower Bridge in eight years.

Two massive piers had to be sunk into the river bed to support the construction. About 11ooo tons of steel provided the frame for Towers and Walkways. When it was built, Tower Bridge was the largest bridge ever built, the bridge is 244 meters long. The style of this building is called ,, neo-Gothic style”.

Nowadays, the bascules are still operated by hydraulic power, but since 1976 they replace by oil and electricity rather than steam. When a big ship is coming along the Thames, the workers on the Bridge had to open the bridge streets in 9o seconds. This happens 500 times a year.

In the two towers there are 300 steps to reach the Tower Bridge Exhibition where you can enjoy a view from the high-level Walkways and learn about the history of the bridge and how it was built. The Tower Bridge walkways have specially designed windows.

Today I want to tell you something about London.

London is the capital of Great Britain and England. The city has 7 million inhabitants and an area of 1596 square kilometres.

London is one of the famous cities in the world and the biggest city of Europe. The language is English. The colours of the flag are red, blue and white. Over two million people visit London every year. London has 33 parts. The famous part is Greenwich.

London´s climate is mild and damp. The weather is generally cloudy and foggy. London has warmer summers than most of the island.

The Queen of England lives in London. Her name is Queen Elizabeth II. She doesn`t live in a house, she lives in a palace call Buckingham Palace. Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British monarch since 1837. Built by John Sheffield. The palace has 660 rooms, a park, a swimming-pool and even a cinema.

Now I tell you about the most famous sights there.

In London is a big bell. The name of this is Big Ben. The clock tower has a high of 97 metres. Every hour you can hear it. The sound is deep. You can hear the sound in the BBC radio.

The London Eye is the biggest wheel of Great Britain and you can sit in it and see London of another version. It´s 135 metres high but before you are allowed to enter you have to do a safety check

In London are a lot of bridges. The most famous bridge is the Tower Bridge. On a walk on the bridge you have a very beautiful view. The bridge was built in 1894 and it is 30 metres long.

Another famous sight is the Madam Tussaud The Madame Tussaud`s is a famous wax museum . It is one of the most popular museums in London. There are figures made out wax look like realpersons. It has over 300 wax Figures.

If you want to go from here to London, there are 880 km

Hi leute.. :) Ich muss nächste Woche ein Referat über das London Eye halte. Ich hab bis jetzt alles zusammen geschrieben, nur das Problem,

Es muss auf Englisch sein und sollte 5 Minuten dauern. Da ich sehr schnell Rede wenn ich aufgeregt bin, dauert mein Referat bis jezt um die 3 Minuten.

The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel, which stands on the River Thames in London. It has the height of 135 meters and is the largest Ferris wheel in Europe and Worldwide, it is the third largest Ferris wheel. Construction of the Ferris wheel was in 1998. And it was opened on March 9, 2000 The inventors had their idea submitted to a competition for the Millennium celebrations where they had lost. The London Eye should only be operated for five years, but because of the great success it is still operating for 15 years

The operator is the Merlin Entertainment Group, and it is since 2015 sponsored by Coca Cola. Bevor It was sponsored by EDF Energy, Tussauds Group, British Airways and the family of architects Marks Barfield.

The architect of the popular attraction is David Marks, and it was designed by Julia Barfield, but the Gondolas are designed by Nick Bailey.

The London Eye has 32 Gondolas, but for superstitious reasons, the number 13 has been omitted. In a gondola there is space for 25 visitors. The speed is 1 km/h and per second, the Ferris wheel moved 26 centimeters, it is twice as fast as a turtle . 1 turn of this popular Sight takes 30 minutes. The wheel almost never stops by the way: In its low rotational speed, passengers can easily stay connected and during operation. It weighs 2,100 tons and is as heavy as 1,272 London taxis and one gondola weighs as 1,052,631 coins. All in All the London Eye transports up to 800 passengers per turn.

On sunny days you can see up to 40 km far from London. You can for example, the Westminister Palace, Buckingham Palace, The Big Ben and see the Shard from here.

Dear..., My family and I are for 7 days in London. We did lots of things in the last 3 days: We visited Buckingham Palace ,the London Eye and St. Pauls Cathedral. In Buckingham Palace ,I saw the queen. that was very amazing. From the London Eye, you have a good view from all over London.St.Pauls Cathedral you can see too. Now we are in a Bangladeshi restaurant. There are very spicy dishes. I take a medium spicy dish.Today we want to go to the Leicester Square. Tomorrow, we are going to go to the Tower of London, there are the crown juwels.The next day we are going to go to the British Museum, which is free!! Hello English freaks :D Ich habe einen kleinen Text über "Caribbean London" vorbereitet. Über Feedback, Kritik und Korrekturen würde ich mich freuen :)

There are many British citizens who have their own countries belonging to the Commonwealth. Black people maily came from the Caribbean. Afro-Caribbeans are slaves from Africa who were transported to the Caribbean by British ships. In 1807, Britain stopped the slave trade.

London has been completely changed by the Caribbean people. They have influenced the social, economic and cultural life in London.

After the World War II, the British economy needed workers.The Caribbeans settled to London in larger numbers in the late 1940s to rebuild a post-war nation in London, they came with passion and excitement. But they had to face a different Britian and were very disappointed; Founding a home was not that easy. The rooms were often in bad condition and the rents were high. They had to do work with low wages that nobody else wanted to do. Police protection was not adequate so they had to deal with physical and verbal abuse.

Thus they developed selg-help organisations. Later, they created their own first Black newspaper "The voice".

They achieved their own buisness in London, running their own shops, restaurant or nightclubs. Others have achieved high postions in public life. The strength of the Caribbean peopel can be felt everywhere in London.

Ich bitte  um Feedback meiner zusammenfassung des Green line Transition 6 Textes "Caribbean London". Danke im vorraus :) hier meine Zusammenfassung : 
The Text "Caribbean London" by Green line is about the Integration and influence of caribbeans in london. (das jetzige) london is  a lot by them, (like in arts or food for exemple ) they have contributed greatly to the prosperity of Britain today. When they first arrived in london in the late 1940's for helping rebuild the postwar nation Great-Britain, they encounters many difficulties. For low wages, caribbeans had to do inferior jobs, that no one else wanted to do. They also had to pay exaggerate high rents for bad housing conditions and many of them experienced racial abuse. The answer to that was the development of  self-help organizations for caribbeans and the launch of "The Voice", one of the first newspapers, aimed at a black audience in Britain. But times changed, nowadays, the most of them are well-established in London. Many caribbeans had become business people running their own shops, and some of them also achieved high positions in big business and public life. They provide as well role models for future. So their situation has changed a lot .

So ich bin mir sicher, dass ich leider ein paar Sätze einfach vom deutschen ins englische übersetzt habe :/  naja ich würde gerne Tips von euch bekommen was ich besser machen könnte, was total falsch war, und so weiter ;) Den "echten " Text findet ihr im Anhang als Bild. The London Dungeon is a Famous Attraction in London.It opened in the Year 1976. The Dungeon are in the Tooley Street under the Station of London.Also in Hamburg , Edinburgh , York and Amsterdam gives Dungeons. The actors of the Dungeon tell about the history of London in the last 1000 years. The main Topics are:Bloody mary , sweeney Todd , Jack the Ripper , the great fire and the Plague(Pest).

It gives three Attractions in the Dungeon , the 3D Lasershow , The Labyrinth of Lost soul's and Drop Ride to Doom. It's open from 10 to 18. Man sollte dorthin weil man dort alles über die Wichtigsten ereignisse Londons erfährt(den satz auf englisch?)

The Capitol is the place for the congresses. This building should be the highest in Washinton D.C. Because of this there are no sky- scrapers. But there are two building which are higher than the Capitol. This is the Washinton Monument ( a monument for their first president) and the tower of the old Post Office. But these buildings where built before they said that the Capitol must to be the highest.

The most sights are at Manhattan for example the Fifth Avenue. It is one of the famousest streets of the world. The Figth Avenue is a symbole for the rich New York. Also there are many famouse shops for fashion and cosmetic for exemple Lacost, Armani, Versace and so on.The Empire State Building is on of the famousest sights in New York. It is 433 meters high and is on of the highest buildings in the world. It has 102 sticks. You can come with on of 70 elevators or by foot 1800 steps to the observation platform (aussichtsplatform). Every year came about 3 milion tourists to these buildin. When you appear you can see 100 kilometers far. The Brookly Bridge is the link from Manhattan to Brooklyn. Hundrets of athletes are going every day over it, but also walkers (spaziegänge) cars, busses and motorbiks. It is 1091 meters long. John Roebling had´the idea to build that brige. 1869 they begun to build it and end 1882. The highest building in New York were the world Trade Centers. The Noeth Tower was 417 meter high and the south tower was 415 meters high. But at the 11.September.2004 they were destroyed by a terrorist attack (terroranschlag). Two plains flew betweeen the 78. and zhe 84. stick in the towers then they fell down. 2.819 people died. Now there is the Ground Zero. The Statue of Liberty is 46,5 meters high. Frederic Auguste Bartholdi outlined (entwurf) it. It stands in Bedloe´s Island.
