Indirect speech?
Hallo,
Beim Satz
(Frank): Do you know why Daniel stopped meeting his brother.
Habe ich folgende Frage: muss ich sagen (indirekte rede)
Frank asked me if I knew why Daniel had stopped meeting his brother
Oder
Frank asked me why Daniel had stopped meeting his brother.
Geht hier beides? Im Buch wird nämlich nur die 2 Lösung repräsentiert.
Außerdem: beim Satz, how much money must I bring for PE (wenn ich das mit den infinitiv Strukturen machen soll), sage ich
She asked how much to bring oder how much money to bring.
Ich danke jedem

Für mich klingt die erste Antwort plausibler, also
Frank asked me if I knew why Daniel had stopped meeting his brother
Das ist inhaltlich genauer, als die zweite Antwort. Aber grammatikalisch sind beide richtig.
Und ich würde sie asked how much money to bring schreiben
Hallo,
"Do you know why Daniel stopped meeting his brother?" -----> Frank asked me if I knew why Daniel had stopped meeting his brother.
"Why did Daniel stop meeting his brother?" ----------> Frank asked (me) why Daniel had stopped meeting his brother.
"How much money must I bring for PE?" --------------> She asked how much money to bring for PE.
"How much must I bring for PE?" --------------> She asked how much to bring for PE.
