Meine Kinder tanzten immer zu "Can the Can" und meinten, das müsse etwas ganz Unanständiges bedeuten
Was aber bedeutet dieser Titel von Suzi Quatro? In welchen Slangs hat es welche Nebenbedeutungen?

O ja, danke. Mithilfe der Fußnoten in der engl. WP kam ich zu folgendem Text:
Micky Most asked songwriters Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman for a song for Suzi Quatro and they came up with this (=Can The Can). When asked what "Can The Can" means, Chinn replied: "It means something that is pretty impossible, you can't get one can inside another if they are the same size, so we're saying you can't put your man in the can if he is out there and not willing to commit. The phrase sounded good and we didn't mind if the public didn't get the meaning of it."
pons hilft hier gar nichts.
Aber das urban dictionary sammelt viele angebliche Bedeutungen von can vor allem als Nomen, wie Gefängniszelle, Toilette, Damenarsch. Can als Verb ( We can the can...) kommt dort allerdings kaum vor,
Gute Tipps, danke, aber sehr viel weiter bin ich noch nicht. Allerdings wurde es nochmals wahrscheinlicher, dass der Sexismus der Dame eher androzentrischer Art ist.
