früher(mir ist das Wort entfallen), South Africa was negatively well-known for its government and Apartheid. Nelson Mandela changed South Africa into a better place, and today, this country is a well-known destination for all people. With a population of 49 Million residents and a total area of about 1 220 000 km^2 it's one of the largest and most popular destinations and countries of the world. Its famous cities (for example Cape Town and Johannesburg) ,beautiful beaches and historical sights, South Africa unnualy attracts nearly 10 Mio visitors. Cape Town, Pretoria and Bleimfontein are the three capital cities. Johannesburg is the largest in South Africa. They belong to the famoust cities. The most widely played sport is soccer. The national soccer team is nicknamed Bafana Bafana, which means "The Boys". South Africa was host to the FIFA World Cup 2010, and since the soccer has become more important. So South Africa is something special for sporty people who have mastered balls perfectly, as well. Another popular destination is the Kruger National Park. It inspires everyone who like experienceing exiting safari tours. You can observe animals in their natural habitants. The Kruger National Park houses an impressive number of species : 336 trees,49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals.
