The article ,, Bangladesh garment workers fight back“ written by James North and published in 2013 tells about the working conditions from Bangladeshi garment workers in the factories.
Kalpona Akter, now 36 years old, started working in a garment factory the age of 12 years. Then she become the president of her local union and by now she is the executive director of the Bangladesh center and the leading figure in Bangladeshe's labor movement as well. Kalpona chases two aims every time a new factory collapse is happening, to support the victims and to get inside the dactory so she can collect the labels from the clothing. She does this so the European and American importers can not deny/hide that their brands come from the same factories. The factory collapse which has happend on 24th April 2013 lead 1129 to death which generate a huge pressure and attention. The people in Bangladesh hope for better conditions and more safety. ( that there is something going to change now).But Kalpona and the people in Bangladesh worries because of some reports so that europeans will boycott products from Bangladesh. The truth problem are the greedy corporations and the factory owners, not the workers in Bangladesh. But now, there is a new agreement which offers safer work places and to cover the wages of workers who may be idle. The human rights if Bangladesh will still continue to be violate.
