Könnte jemand über meine Summary drüberschauen?
Könnte jemand meine Summary korriegieren ,auf Gramatik, Rechtschreinung und auf die Kritikpunkte einer Summary, also nur das, worauf man ohne den orginal Text achten kann zB Zeit ,keine eigene Meinung ..... Danke :)
The chapter "The Meeting" from the novel "Go Well, Stay Well"written by Toeckey Jones in 1979 deals with the topic of racism, contempt and skepticism towards the dark in the past.It's about a meeting between a white and a black girl.
At the beginning of the chapter a white girl, her name is Candy, twisted her ankle while she walks in the city. A dark-skinned girl named Becky helps her. Candy is afraid that Becky will steal something from her, so she presses the bag against her.But Becky doesn't want to steal anything from her. Than Becky makes a joke and both laugh. Candy stopps laughing because people were looking at her with interest.Even Becky helps Candy, Candy stays skeptical . She finds it easier if a white person would have helped her . After than Becky helps Candy to go to the park where Candy sit down and relax a little bit.The black woman Becky proves that she doesn't want to steal from candy but only takes care of her. Candy slips down the bag, Becky could steal it and ran away, but she didn't. They start to be friends. Subsequentlythe the girls want to sit somewhere together.But Becky can't go into coffee because it's only for white people.Candy's father picks her up. He hardly pays attention to Becky, although candy points it out to him.The father even misinterprets it and pays Becky for being so friendly to his daughter. Becky rejects.
All in all, the text is about the prejudices against dark people, how they react to them and focuses particularly on Candys and Becky story.

But Becky doesn't (s.o.) want to steal anything from her (Wiederholung). Than (RS) Becky makes a joke and both (Hier fehlt etwas.) laugh. Candy stopps (RS) laughing because people were looking (Grammatik) at her with interest. Even (Wort) Becky helps Candy, Candy stays skeptical (RS) . She finds it easier if a white person would have helped her. (Grammatik) After than (RS; Komma) Becky helps Candy to go to the park where Candy sit (Grammatik) down and relax (Grammatik) a little bit.The black woman (Komma) Becky (Komma) proves that she doesn't (s.o.) want to steal from candy (RS) but only takes care of her. He hardly pays attention to Becky, although candy (RS) points it (wen oder was?) out to him.The father even misinterprets it (wen oder was?) and pays Becky for being (Grammatik) so friendly to his daughter. Becky rejects.
All in all, the text is about (----) prejudices against dark people, how they react to them (Komma) and focuses particularly on Candys (Grammatik) and Becky (Grammatik) story.

Summaries (= Inhaltsangaben, Zusammenfassungen) werden in der Regel im Present geschrieben. Handlungen aus der Vergangenheit können aber durchaus auch im Past Simple und Present Perfect stehen.
- The summary is usually written in the present tense.
- But past events may be reported in the past, future events may be reported in the future.
- Statements or questions which were made in the past may be reported in the past tense or the past perfect.
- Statements and questions which were made in the past but concern the future may be reported in the conditional

Für die Anwendung der anderen Zeiten im Summary gelten dieselben Regeln und Signalwörter wie in anderen Texten.
Die Zusammenfassung eines Sachtextes, der sich mit Geschichte befasst, steht im Simple Past, denn es handelt sich um in der Vergangenheit abgeschlossene Handlungen.
In eine Summary gehören nicht:
- Progressive / Continuous Tense
- Wörtliche Rede
- Zitate aus dem Originaltext
- Eigene Meinung, Gedanken und Kommentare
- Stellungnahme
- Schlusssatz
- Erzählerische Elemente, z.B. suddenly, unfortunately, at long last …
Zur Länge gibt es keine Vorgaben, man sagt über den Daumen gepeilt 1/5 des Originaltextes.

hm, ich würde sagen
It's about a white girls meeting a black one.
"presses the bag against her" - her? whom? the black girl? ;-)
"Than Becky" ? - oups! und auch "then" wäre stilistisch nicht optimal.
Candy stays skeptical - LLY!
Danach überarbeite es bitte selbst noch mal. Vor allem die Formen der Zeitwörter. Es wird auch sprachlich immer mehr 1:1 übersetzt. Da kannst Du selbst schon noch mehr.
