Biography about Martin Luther King Jr
Martin Luther King was born on the 15th of January 1929 in Atlanta Georgia. His father was president of the National Advancement of Coloured People. It's the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organisation in Atlanta. Martin lived whit his Family in a house in the residential area*1 in Atlanta. This Place was the centre of black people in Atlanta. He grow up whit racial segregation and discrimination against black People, so he wasn't allowed to drink or use the same water and toilets, the same seating in Buses like whit Martin Luther King Jr. was an awesome student on the Morehouse College (only College for black people in the southern states) , he skipped the ninth and twelfth grade and in 1948 he began to study Theology and Philosophy in Bosten. Five years later, on June 18th, 1953 Martin Luther King Jr. Married Coretta Scott. He and his Woman became four children.
Martin Luther King jr. Fought always for the colored's rights but he decited to fought with another method: non-violence , like Mahatma Ghandi in India does. So he arranged for example non-violent marshs an travelled (1957) about 1 Million sqm and hold over 200 speeches to find more civil right activists. On August 28th 1963 Martin Luther King Jr. Hold his famous speech „I have a dream“ in Washington DC where over 250.000 peaceful people demonstrated. He spoke about jobs, liberty and equality2. Here the last lines from his speech: „I have a dream that my four little Children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today.“ But Martin Luther King Jr. Had to accept that the new laws3 couldn't change the situation of the Black People. Most blacks were much poorer than whites. He decited to fight for all people, no matter what colour they had. On April 1968 he was shot down by a white man called James Earl Ray in Memphis, Tennessee -whit only 39 years. After his death 1968 the situation changed. But not only the situation of African Americans changed -even in Germany he inspired the civil rights and peace movements of the former DDR and played an important part in some German States.
