Hi,
ich muss einen Brief an eine potenzielle Gastfamilie schreiben und wäre froh wenn jemand drüber schauen könnte. :)
Dear Host Family, My name is , I am sixteen years old and I come from Basel, a city in Switzerland. I decided to go on my exchange year because I like travelling and I am interested in meeting new people and getting to know something about other cultures. I would describe myself as an open-minded person, in the beginning I am sometimes a little bit shy but I open up pretty fast. I heard so much about your country: the feasts like Thanksgiving or Halloween, the High School where you also do your sport activities and are very connected to, big cities with skyscrapers but also a lot of national parks and nice beaches and so on. And at the moment the news are reporting very much about the presidential elections, that I am also pursuing. But I don’t just want to hear about all of these things, I want to experience how it is in reality there. I think I will see some things I expected but the bigger part will be very surprising for me - and that is why I have chosen to go the USA. Of course I also want to improve my English because I think it is the most important language worldwide and good English will help me in my future and my profession. I live together with my mother and my three brothers. Our daily grind is sometimes quiet stressful but I am used to it and can handle it well. My parents separated two years ago, that is why my parents live apart. But I have a good relationship to every family member and we now and then do trips together. I for example often go to soccer games with my father or was lately sleeding with my mother and my brothers. We travelled a lot as a family and I am very thankful that I could visit countries like Thailand or Mauritius. I also meet my grandparents frequently and have a good relationship to them. I have been playing soccer for four years in a team and it is always great fun and I like the persons I play with. I practice three times a week and on the weekend we always have a game. I also play in my free time with friends, but it also depends on the season, what we are doing. When it is warmer, we go swimming and we mostly hang out outside in the evenings. We listen to good music, have conversation and just have a good time. Sometimes we also go to the city if there are special events or we just go for dinner (we don´t do that often because it´s quite expensive - we prefer to make barbecues's or something like that for ourselvs). In winter I like snowboarding and in the evenings we often go to a friend’s house for hanging out. Since one year, I go to the gym 2-3 times a week with a friend. What I don’t like are people who talk bad behind someones back and arrogant and ignorant people. You can always have fun with me but I am also there for having deep conversation and helping out me friends, as they do it for me. I think I am a trustful and polite person,
