Along the river thames there is one of the most visited attractions of London, the London eye. Besides it's, with 135 meters the largest Ferris wheel of Europe. It was designed by the architects David Marks and Julia Barfield, to celebrate the millenium. One revolution takes thirty minutes. There are thirty-two baskets which are made of glass. 25 people can have a seat in one basket, and wheelchair users can drive with it, too. The London eye was built in 1999. Caused by technical problems it was opened for the first time in March 2000. The London Eye is open the hole year, except for Christmas Day and one week in January. When you get there, it's the best to reserve a ticket online.
