Anstatt den Text wörtlich zu übersetzen, habe ich mich für eine freiere Formulierung entschieden. So klingt der Text viel flüssiger und natürlicher.
10 days, 20,000 kilometres and 22 hours of flight separate both of these pictures, yet an indescribable amount of emotions is what brings them together. A deep desire to travel, gratitude, good luck, self-reflection, fulfillment, happiness, wonderful and enlightening experiences… Actually, this list could go on forever.
I decided to visit New Zealand three years ago, originally planning to fly back home after a year; but back then, I was very different from what I am today. I never would have dared to dream that these three years would turn me into the person I am now. A lot of things had cluttered my mind throughout my life, but deep down I felt all my worries and troubles slowly ebbing away.
Indeed, I believe that going on this trip was the best decision I have ever made! If I were able to go back in time, I certainly would have made this journey much earlier. New Zealand will always be part of who I am and I am forever thankful for how this country enriched my being.
I can’t say for sure what I will think of this in three years’ time, but I am certain that nothing will ever make as great a difference in my life as my visit to this inspiring country.
Let me give you some advice from personal experience: Always trust your gut instinct! Stop overthinking and take that leap of faith so you may enjoy life to the fullest.
