Jesminder “Jess” Bhamra, a young Indian girl, lives with her parents and her sister Pinky in Hounslow in London. She loves playing football and her Idol is David Beckham. Jules, part of the Hounslow Harriers, a girl football team, sees Jess playing football with friends in the park. She discovers her talent and invites her to be part in the female football team. But her parents don´t allow her to play. Especially her mother who´s very interested in the Indian culture wants her to cook traditional Indian food and become a lawyer. So Jess plays secretly. As it wouldn´t be enough, she falls in love in Joe, her white football coach, the heart-throb of her best friend Jules.
