Hab ich grade gefunden hoffe du kannst englisch;) Mike Sinyard started Specialized in the mid/late 70s I think. He started out importing "specialized" goods from overseas. Seems like his first big product might have been tires. The early 80s were good. They not only offered some of the best road clinchers available with the "Turbo" series, but they offered a nice line of bikes with the Allez road bikes, Sequia touring bikes and....Stumpjumpers. Stumpjumpers were officially the first mass produced mountain bikes. The mountain bike line then grew to include the Hardrock and Rockhopper lines which more or less still represents the bulk of their offroad offerings. In the late 80s they started their high end race shop called S-works. In 1991 they offered a Stumpjumper FS off the rack that had a suspension fork!! The road line about that time started dabbling in carbon framed Allez road bikes. They later shifted to "Metal Matrix" aluminum with ceramic. That later became M4 tubing.

1981 to 1991 saw the company grow like mad. By the mid to late 80s, Specialized was one of the biggies in the industry. If you've seen the movie American Flyers from 1986, you've seen dorky Kevin Costner on an Allez. I believe it was 2001 when Mario Cipollini rode their S-Works road bikes with the Aqua et Sapone team. Ned Overend has been a fixture on the mountain bike racing scene since the 80s, always on Specialized bikes.

Anyway....that's not the "official" history but the one I remember first hand. They've brought some revolutionary stuff to market. The "Sub 6" helmet from '89 has to be the lightest helmet ever. The tri-spoke wheel used by Lance and co in time trials was brought to market by Specialized and Dupont probably 17 years ago! Specialized invented the 4-bar rear mountain bike suspension design that had everyone scrambling for a way around their patent. Metal Matrix tubing was pretty cool for aluminum and at the time was cooler than titanium. The Ground Control mountain tire and the Turbo road tire were extremely popular, then Specialized came out with the grey colored "Uma-guma" rubber which was tacky as all get out for the 100 miles it lasted.

It's a great company. Excellent products. Always innovators. Very similar to Trek in many ways, although I think for the bulk of the 80s and 90s Specialized beat the heck out of Trek on many levels. Warum muss das unbedingt ein deutsches sein?wie groß ist dein sohn?also ich persönlich find www.jehlebikes.de super sieh da mal nach aber überleg dir das nochmal ob das unbedingt deutsch sein muss denn auf dem Markt macht das qualitativ keinen unterschied zudem sind deutsche fahrräder oft teurer und trotzdem gleich in der qualität.

also tu dir bitte selbst einen gefallen und leg noch 200 drauf dafür bekommst du wenn de im richtigen shop nachsiehst das giant stp 1 das hat nen viel besseren rahmen ne bessere schaltung und ne echt gute gabel.Außerdem wiegts keine 15kg soviel wiegt mein Enduro mit 160mm!!!!!!!!

Naja kommt darauf an wofür du es brauchst zum bisschen fahren in der stadt und ein bisschen tricksen im skatepark dürfte es reichen aber wenn du dass als sport bzw. hobby ausüben willst würde ich dir eher zu einem dirt von einem namenhaften Hersteller wie giant oder bergamont raten auch wäre es dann angebracht es bei einem Fahrradhändler zu kaufen da du da einen guten reperaturservice bekommst lg Jan
