Ich fahre 22/23 für ein Jahr in die USA und muss einen Brief an die Gastfamilien schreiben, bin mir aber über den Inhalt noch recht unsicher ob das so gut ist oder eher nicht... Ich freue mich für jede Verbesserungsvorschläge

Dear future host family,

First of all I want to thank you, that hopefully I can be part of your family for about 10 months.

My name is Nassim and I'm 15 years old. I live near Berlin, the capital city of Germany, in a house with my parents and my 17 year old brother. I have a pretty good realation ship with my family. Sometimes we do trips on the weekend or sometimes I do sports with my brother at the weekend. Even if it's mostly competetive it's always fun. The most time we spend together are the holidays, where we visit cities or go hiking in landscapes. My Father is an editor and my mum a german/spain teacher. They always help me if I need their help for school.

Music is something very important for me. That's why I want to tell you my journey with it.

With the age of five I wanted to learn an instrument, becouse my brother played one and who doesn't want to be like his big sibling when you're young. Anyways I went to a music school and tried every instrument I could. I wanted to choose drums, becouse it was loud :), but couldn't by reason of my small hands. That's why I choosed the trumpet. Three years later I also started playing piano.

When I finished the fourth class I went to the Bach Gymnasium, a music high school, the same my brother went to two years earlier. The day of the entrance exam was for me a very special day, becouse I got accepted as the first trumpet player who was allowed to go to the fith class ever. After five great years I changed schools becouse I stopped playing trumpet.

I'm happy at my new school and have now more time for new hobbies. I also can spend more time with my friends. We go to the cinema or we just meet to play some basketball or if we are enough to play some volleyball too. At home we have a small basketball court, wher I can practice my shots. I also like cooking and helping my father in the garden. I started at the beginning of this school year with american football. I have twice a week training. I really enjoy it. Since a few months I also do jazz piano. It's a little challenge for me becouse it's way more different to classic piano than I thought.

I'm currently in the tenth grade. I drive to school by bike for about 20 minutes. I enjoy this 20 minutes every morning becouse my head gets clear and I can hear some music. My favourite subjects are music and sport. I'm already exited to go to an american school, becouse I always wanted to drop the subject I didn't like, but couldn't becouse you have to be in the Abitur (11th and 12th grade).
