Ich kann Dir nur ein Muster zur Verfügung stellen, zu dem ich übrigens die Herkunft suche (deswegen bin ich hier gelandet): Ich vermute, dass es eine Kleiderborte war und aus dem Balkan stammt (30er Jahre o.ä.). Habe mir daraus eine Krawatte gemacht. Das Originalband war 1,5 cm breit und ca. 70 cm lang.
Ich kenne eins – sogar auswendig – seitdem unsere Abiturklasse im September 1967 (!) vor dem Grab von John Keats auf dem protestantischen Friedhof in Rom stand. Jeder Schüler hatte die Aufgabe erhalten, vor einem Monument ein (vom Griechischlehrer vorgegebenes) Gedicht auswendig herzusagen:
A thing of beauty is a joy for ever: Its loveliness increases; it will never Pass into nothingness; but still will keep A bower quiet for us, and a sleep Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.
