Ist offenbar möglich, doch recht selten - und es ist kein AcI!

Manche bestehen darauf, dass "suggest" von einem Gerund gefolgt wird, und so sagt es auch ein strenges Lehrbuch. Fakt ist, dass man insbesondere im Gesprochenen auch mal den to-Infinitiv nach "suggest" hört.

Im Schriftlichen sollte aber dem Gerund der Vorzug gegeben werden.

Alternativ natürlich that-clause. Dann der Infinitiv, ja.

  • I suggest that you be (!) polite.
  • We suggest that he do (!) this.
