Jung sein in Deutschland?
Hallo, wir haben in Englisch die Hausaufgabe bekommen, zu sagen ob es jetzt eine gute oder eher eine schlechte Zeit ist um jung zu sein in Deutschland. Ich hab nicht wirklich eine Idee wie ich anfangen soll zu schreiben, deswegen wollte ich euch mal fragen, ob einer ein gutes Argument hat. Das würde mir schon reichen. Danke im Voraus

Ich finde, aus meiner Sicht, ist es für junge Leute ein gutes Leben zur jetzigen Zeit. Ich bin in den 70er Jahren groß geworden, es gab viele Restriktionen, Auflagen und die Eltern waren ziemlich streng. Heute gibt es enorme Möglichkeiten, sich zu entfalten, einfacher zu lernen. Man muss nicht, um Informationen zu erhalten, tagelang Bibliotheken durchforsten, sondern hat in Sekunden alle Informationen, die man braucht. Die Wirtschaft hat sich inzwischen enorm verbessert, man kann sich viel mehr leisten als damals. Für uns war es eher schwierig, eine eigene Wohnung zu bekommen, Urlaub kam eigentlich erst nach vielen Jahren in Frage. Man musste studieren und viel arbeiten, die Zähne arg zusammenreissen, sich in der Ausbildung vom Chef bepöbeln lassen und auch hinterher konnte man kaum seinen Mund aufmachen. Was für mich besser war damals: man lernte schneller Leute kennen, man ging freundlicher miteinander um und nicht jedes Wort wurde auf die Goldwaage gelegt.
Na, dann denk z.B. mal an die lange Corona-Zeit.
Allein, einsam sein müssen, weil man ziemlich lange keine Freunde treffen durfte.
Der Fernunterricht in der Schule, der zu oft mehr schlecht als recht funktionierte - wenn überhaupt. Die Anlaufzeit war total chaotisch.
Zu viele Familien hatten nur eine Möglichkeit, online zu gehen, aber zwei Eltern plus Kind/Kinder, die alle auf das online-Arbeiten angewiesen waren.
Einmal wurden alle versetzt, dann wieder nicht.
Und wenn jung auch die Studenten mit einschließt - viele von ihnen nagten regelrecht am Hungertuch, weil all ihre Nebenjobs wegfielen und es viel zu lange dauerte, bis auch sie eine Unterstützung erhielten.
Und als der reguläre Unterricht wieder einsetzte, hatte sich die Welt ja nicht geändert - das Mobbing ging/geht munter weiter.

Das ist die Formulierung deines Englischlehrers?
Well, that depends on the eye of the beholder.
Being young today certainly has its advantages. Young people usually grow up with a tremendous variety of options. They are virtually interconnected to at least 50% of the world's population via the internet. The global knowledge is available at their fingertips and only two clicks or swipes away, ...on their smartphones.
LGBTQI+ teens never have to face difficulties in collecting information or finding others as the babyboomers once had. A coming-out is much easier or should be, at least, due to all these communication options. At the same time, internet communicaton is a strong amplifyer for discrimination, mobbing, verbal violence, threats and political extremism. All of above can cause fatal suffering to those most vulnerable, children and teens.
Being overwhelmed by a huge variety of options is truly an effect that should be addressed. Feeling lost, especially in developed democracies in Europe and the Americas, can be sensed as a burden. People have to make their choices, and when these choices seem to be infinite, one can easily feel misplaced. These circumstances require a matured character, which can only be achieved through excellent education, both at home and at school.
The constant availability of internet content has, as we know today, led to a common side effect known as "media addiction". Some scientists even talk about it as the "digital dementia". Spending too much time with online services, games, admiration of influencers and other false role models can result in mental disorders. Lack of sleep, school problems, drug addiction, tobacco and alcohol abuse at young age, anorexia and a false perception of the "inner and outer self". Parents seem to be unable to control their kids' online time and postponing this kind of training to kids' latter life at school and their teachers, can't be a solution, as we see every day.
Asking myself if early internet ecxess means good or bad for children, I would tend to say: rather negative, if no sufficient guidance is granted through parents' supervision.
The young generation, born in the 2000s or later, will definitely have to cope with Global Climate Change and its challenges. Ethical questions like climate refugees, migration, global equality, a fair distributions of ressources and fair participation of wealth are only some issues the young generation will have to face. Finding solutions to all these urgent problems, most importantly climate chance and mass extinction, also known as the loss off biodiversity, also comes with great job opportunities. Science is key to find proper solutions, and science requires excellent education.
Taking care of the young, much better than we are doing today, can lead to a better future for everyone. The odds are even, from today's perspective, and the time window for effective action is closing quickly.

Jugengewalt. Mobbing. Mugging. Schulabbrecher. Jugendgewalt. Bildungsmisere. Alkohol- und Tabalmissbrauch, illegale Drogen. Olinesucht. Gamingsucht. Falsche Ernährung. Übergewicht. Nichtschwimmer. Fehlende soziale Kompetenz durch Kommunikation ausschließlich per IT... fehlende Voraussetzungen für eigenständiges (Berufs-) Leben.
