Die Konstruktion "Due to (inflation) is" gibt es nicht. Dann müsste man sagen, As/Since/Because (inflation) is

Thus und hence auf jeden Fall; due to mit Gerund (hier: being) dahinter auch. Due to mit Nomen (due to inflation) wird öfter auch mündlich verwendet.
Ok! D. h. ich muss mich mit thus, hence immer auf etwas beziehen. Eine Ursache und dann beschreibe ich z. B. die Wirkung
