Ich habe morgen ein Referat in Englisch, habt ihr irgendwelche Ideen, wie man freier sprechen und selbstbewusster sein kann? (Außer das typische Auswendiglernen) Mir fällt das freie Reden vor vielen Menschen immer richtig schwer… (aber nur wenn Noten davon abhängen 😅)

What is factory farming ?. Factory Farming is a way of producing meat and other animal products quickly and cheaply. The animals are kept in small cages. They get special food, so they are growing faster. The main products of this industry are meat, milk and eggs for human consumption. Advantages: Cheaper prices With the use of factory farms, the prices of food became very cheap. The main reason for this is that the food can be processed very fast. Also, the food for the animals is very cheap, because they buy it in mass orders. Enough animal products for the market Factory farms use vitamins, minerals, and other substances that make animals grow faster and so they can produce much more food. Big farms also have modern tools which helps to produce meat, milk, eggs and other products very quickly and in an efficient way.

Disadvantages: Very bad living conditions In many factory farms the animals are kept in small cages, where they don’t have any space to walk around and do what they naturally do. The animals are usually kept indoor, so they don’t get any fresh air or sun. The cages are not cleaned as often as it is necessary, so the living conditions for the animals are very bad.

Bad for people’s health Factory farms are bad for people’s health in two ways. One of these is the pollution what they produce, which harm the health of the people who are living next to them. The other way is through the antibiotics that they give their animals to make them immune against illnesses. These can be transmitted to people from the meat and other animal products.

Small farming businesses haven’t a chance against factory farms Many factory farms are owned by corporations, who have the possibility to buy modern tools, equipment and larger spaces for the animals. They’re able to sell their products at a lower price. Smaller farms usually don’t have the resources to buy faster and bigger machines and therefore they can’t compete with their larger rivals.

Ich muss am Montag ein 5 minütiges Referat zu halten. Wir müssen dabei frei (ohne jegliche Spicks etc.) über ein selbst gewähltes Thema reden. Ein Thema (Sehnswürdigkeiten in London) und eine passende PowerPoint-Präsentation habe ich bereits. Da wir das zum ersten Mal machen, bin ich mir nicht ganz sicher, auf was ich achten sollte. Habt Ihr ein paar Tipps für mich?

Today I want to tell you something about London.

London is the capital of Great Britain and England. The city has 7 million inhabitants and an area of 1596 square kilometres.

London is one of the famous cities in the world and the biggest city of Europe. The language is English. The colours of the flag are red, blue and white. Over two million people visit London every year. London has 33 parts. The famous part is Greenwich.

London´s climate is mild and damp. The weather is generally cloudy and foggy. London has warmer summers than most of the island.

The Queen of England lives in London. Her name is Queen Elizabeth II. She doesn`t live in a house, she lives in a palace call Buckingham Palace. Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British monarch since 1837. Built by John Sheffield. The palace has 660 rooms, a park, a swimming-pool and even a cinema.

Now I tell you about the most famous sights there.

In London is a big bell. The name of this is Big Ben. The clock tower has a high of 97 metres. Every hour you can hear it. The sound is deep. You can hear the sound in the BBC radio.

The London Eye is the biggest wheel of Great Britain and you can sit in it and see London of another version. It´s 135 metres high but before you are allowed to enter you have to do a safety check

In London are a lot of bridges. The most famous bridge is the Tower Bridge. On a walk on the bridge you have a very beautiful view. The bridge was built in 1894 and it is 30 metres long.

Another famous sight is the Madam Tussaud The Madame Tussaud`s is a famous wax museum . It is one of the most popular museums in London. There are figures made out wax look like realpersons. It has over 300 wax Figures.

Hello, Today I want to tell something about dancing.

There are very many Dance styles as example Jazz dance, Break dance, Street dance, Ballet (wie spricht man das??) and so on(e) (das soll "und so weiter" heißen) You can too dance together with your Partner (->Englisch?). That's Paartanz (->Englisch?).

There are already many movies about dance (oder dancing?) as example Grease, Dirty Dancing, Step up and Street dance.

If you wanna to learn dancing you can go to/at a dancing school (oder wie heißt das?).

Good dancer go to competions. Sometimes they dance alone and sometimes "in einer Gruppe" (auf englisch??).
