Mexiko Reise, Zwischenstopp USA?
Hallo ich reise zum Ersten Mal außerhalb der EU (nach Mexico) ich habe einen Zwischenstopp in Atlanta. Für die Staaten zum Einreisen braucht man ja bestimmte Dokumente. Sind die dort auch notwendig, wenn ich nur einen Zwischenstopp habe?

Do I need to apply if I'm only transiting the United States en route to another country?
Eligible nationals or citizens of countries that participate in the Visa Waiver Program require either a travel authorization or a visa to transit the United States. If a traveler is only planning to transit through the United States en route to another country, when he or she completes the travel authorization application in ESTA, the traveler should select "Yes" to the question "Is your travel to the US occurring in transit to another country?". Also, ja, du brauchst eine Reisegenehmigung, sprich ESTA auch beim Transit.
De facto reist jeder, ein, der einen Flughafen in den USA erreicht.
In den USA gibt es keine Transitzonen auf internationalen Flughäfen. Das ist der Unterschied zu europäischen Flughäfen.
In den USA gibt es keinen Transitbereich. Ja, du musst komplett in die USA einreisen, inklusive Einreiseprozedur, Zollkontrolle usw.
Das heisst du brauchst ein ESTA und solltest nichts im Gepäck haben, was du nicht in die USA einführen darfst.
Das kenne ich von Atlanta anders. Allerdings ist das schon Dekaden her.
