Mit Personalpronomen können wir ein bereits genanntes Nomen ersetzen, über uns selbst sprechen bzw. andere Personen ansprechen. Personalpronomen werden dekliniert.

Personalpronomen in der 3. Person (er, sie, es) ersetzen normalerweise ein vorher genanntes Nomen.

Beispiel:

Ich habe  eine Katze.  Sie ist sehr niedlich.

Um Missverständnisse zu vermeiden, sollte immer klar sein, welches Nomen wir ersetzen (im Zweifelsfall lieber das Nomen wiederholen).

Beispiel:

Herr Schneider hatte  einen Wellensittich.  Er ist gestorben.
(Wer – der Wellensittich oder Herr Schneider?)

Das Pronomen es kann auch für unpersönliche Formen stehen.

Beispiel:

Es regnet.  Es ist schon spät.

Das Pronomen es kann außerdem Platzhalter für einen ganzen Satzteil sein, der weiter hinten im Satz steht.

Beispiel:

Es freut mich, dass du mich besuchst.
( anstelle von: Dass du mich besuchst, freut mich.)

Personalpronomen in der 1. Person (ich, wir) verwenden wir, wenn wir über uns selbst sprechen.

Beispiel:

Ich habe Hunger.  Mir ist kalt.

Wir gehen ins Kino.  Uns ist das egal.

Wenn wir andere Personen ansprechen, verwenden wir die Personalpronomen in der 2. Person (du, ihr) oder die Höflichkeitsform Sie (entspricht der 3. Person Plural, das Pronomen wird aber großgeschrieben).

Beispiel:

Wie heißt  du? Wie geht es  dir?

Woher kommt  ihr? Welche Musik gefällt  euch?

Können  Sie das bitte wiederholen? Kann ich  Ihnen helfen?

Personalpronomen im Genitiv sind sehr selten, sie werden mit bestimmten Wörtern/Wendungen verwendet, die Genitiv verlangen (siehe Deklination/Genitiv).

Beispiel:

Wir erinnerten uns  ihrer.

Sie waren  seiner überdrüssig.
