Ist eine Samsung 980 PRO kompatibel mit einem ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING?

Ich überlege mir eine Samsung 980 PRO zuzulegen und weiß nicht, ob sie auf mein Mainboard passt.

Macht nur nicht so viel Sinn, weil es eine PCIe 4.0 SSD ist und in einem PCIe 3.0 Slot auch nur mit PCIe 3.0 Geschwindigkeit läuft.

Die normale Samsung 980 sollte reichen.

Ja, ist kompatibel. Das Board hat zwei M.2 Steckplätze und in beiden werden M.2 PCIe SSD's unterstützt.

Allerdings steht nur PCIe 3.0 Unterstützung zur Verfügung, so das die Samsung 980 Pro SSD auf unter 4000MB/s ausgebremst wird, wahrscheinlich auf 3500/3600MB/s. Deshalb kannst du dir den Aufpreis auf eine PCIe 4.0 SSD sparen. Eine etwas günstigere, aber immer noch recht flotte, PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD reicht völlig aus.
