Over (Ich bevorzuge "for".) the past hundred years (Komma) India has changed greatly (Wort). India has gone from being ruled by a king to now being the most populous democracy in the world. The english (RS) colonization has brought India a great deal of advances such as left-hand driving/infrastructure and the anglosaxon (RS) judicial system. But colonization came at a high price, over  (Ich bevorzuge "for".) many decades the indian (RS) people were suppressed by white supremacist leaders and had to pay high taxes.
Furthermore the entire indian (RS) subcontinent was exploited by the global tea and spices trade.
To come to a conclusion (Komma) I would say (kein Komma) that India has profited more from colonization by the British than it had suffered (Zeit) from it.
Why I would like to visit India?
India has one of the most diverse flora and fauna. The country has one of only 7 tropical rainforests in the world (Anbindug oder neuer Satz) it captures (Wort) many of almost extinct animals such as tigers and elephants. The Indian architecture (Komma) as presented in the world famous Taj Mahal (Komma) is one of the most sophisticated architectures in the world. Also (stilistisch kein guter Satzanfang) the Indian culture and traditions are very unique. Despite the fact that there's a lot of criminality in India, a beautiful vacation is guaranteed (Das würde ich umformulieren.).
