du suchst Hauptwörter, die keinen Plural haben. da gäbe es noch: sand, anger, noise, alcohol, frustration, joy, usw....

Du machst es dir zu schwer! Man kann es sich ganz einfach merken:
much = viel
many = viele

Also:
viele Autos, Äpfel, etc. aber:
viel Geld, Regen, sonnenschein, Fröhlichkeit, usf. (much money, rain, sunshine, happiness)

The cake was too much for me. A lot can be said about the cook. He used far too much creme. I am much in favour for less creme. Is it too much to ask for less? He knows much more than he admits.
