Encrypted Folder can be opened without Certificate in another Computer. Why?
I have encrypted a Folder using windows Encryption.
Right click on the folder --> Properties --> Advanced --> encrypt contents to secure data
So Automatically A Certificate was created in my Certificate Console and I defined a Password for it.
I sent the Folder (First I zipped it to be able to send it) using Email to my Brother on the other half of the word. We both use Win 7 Pro 64. He could easily unzip the Folder and open the Photo inside it. Without having the certificate file I created.
I asked him to do the same and see if I can open an encrypted file. I could open it without certificate.
I sent the file to another person ´'s computer and he could open it without certificate. I searched the internet. there are 1000 Article and Video how to Encrypt and decrypt a file and folder using EFS Encrypting File System but no one mentioned such a problem.
Why is it happened and how can I send someone an Encrypted file or forder using windows Encryption (I do not want any 3. Party software)
I want to encrypt a file using windows built-in EFS and send it and later I want to send the certificate in a different email so that the person can open the file.
