Bitte eine Kontrolle für Englisch - The Apaches. Is it right?
In a fight, they didn’t like open battles, as you knew from other big battles. They preferred attacking and killing enemies from behind. For 200 years, in their territory the Apaches successfully fought against the Spaniards. The Apaches wanted to kill everybody of the Spaniards. That goes so far that the Spanish government pays for every male Apache 100 dollars and for each female 50 dollars-of course: death. After the end of the American-Mexican war, the Americans won, Arizona and New Mexico belonged to the USA now. From now on, the apaches had to do with another enemy. But the largest Apache tribe of the Chiricahuas under the leadership of Cochise remained peaceful. But short time later they was big enemies and they fought. Few months later were the American Civil War. The Spaniards and the American pay much money for an Apache - again of course: death. So another war was beginning between the Apache tribes and the Americans. First of all, it was very difficult for the US Army to find the Apache tribes under the leadership of Mangas Coloradas, Cochise, Geronimo, Victorio and Nana in the big area of New Mexico and Arizona. Later, when Apache scouts were used to the service of the US army, they were responsible for breaking the resistance of their own people, as they were able to find the uprising headlights with their knowledge of the terrain. The last chief of the Apaches, Geronimo, surrendered on September 4, 1886. Until then, the longest and most fruitless campaign in the history of the US cavalry was conducted. The war with the Apaches lost more money and cost more human life than any other Indian war.
