Eva Colmers is the daughter of a former POW[kein komma] who was captured
by the Britsh army in Africa and shipped to a prisoner camp in Canada.
She felt the need to look back to the past and show[was meinst du mit show] how fair Canada
treate[d] their POWs[. That's...]  that's what her dad always told her.

The main aspect of the film is the blessing that Canada signed the
Geneva Convention and thanks[falsch, überleg dir was anderes] to that the German POWs were treated like
human beeings. Other[Different then] than in the Soviet Union and the United States, how
Mrs. Colmers uncle had to experience. Theo Melzer, who ist Mrs. Colmers
father , and 4 other POWs even talk of this experience as it were the
best time in their lives. Many of them live in Canada nowadays because
when WWII was over[,] they were sent back home to Germany[. But...] but nearly none
of them saw a bright future for them in Germany in terms of work and
killed family members. Canada even supported them in making use of their
cativity and let them study all kinds of sciences[science]. Another important
aspect of the documentary is the trust [in the POWs] were (welches den POWs
entgegengebracht wurde). On the one hand from the farmers they worked
for and on the other hand from the guards, who watched the camps.

Her documentary has a clear structure, what makes it easy to follow.
Also (das Berichtete)[the report f.e.] is exemplified with original pictures and video
footage of that time and maps to show that Camps were spread all over
Canada in remote areas,[kein komma] from Alberta to Quebec. She even provides
insight into very intimate letters from her dad to his family in
Germany, which mostly say that he's fine in Canada although he misses
his family of course.[der satz is schei55e, ausdrucksfehler]

In my opinion her film let[s] the viewer have a look on how the POWs
expierienced WWII[mach hier n neuen satz] and it's realistic because she didn't censor emotions.
While first you could think the title of the film was unlucky chosen,
because the German young men didn't really had an other opportunity than
serving their country[. So..] so why would you call them enemies but Mrs.
Colmers had a statement on that, in witch she explains that not the POWs
are called enemis but rather the young German soldiers should realize
that the enemy was within their own country. (Nämlich) the ideology of
Hitler.

beings

Dein "Satz" mit "Other than" ist kein Satz, weil unvollständig.

Mrs Colmers' father

as if it had been the best time..

in terms of work and killed family members... ergibt keinen Sinn

Nach "structure" KOMMA und which, nicht "what" (typisch deutscher Fehler)

lets the viewer..

"unlucky chosen"geht nicht. Meinst Du  "was a bad choice"?

did not really have any other choice than...

in which  ("witch" heißt HEXE)

enemies

Für "nämlich" gibt es "namely", aber ob das hier passt? Der letzte Satz ist schwer zu verstehen.

"das Berichtete" ist unübersetzbar. Meinst Du:vielleicht "the content of the movie"? Oder einfach "what is reported"?

Hallo,
